Important to know

Tachles Israel is an independent information service, not a government authority. Check binding conditions, eligibility and deadlines with the official source.

Before you start

Israeli hospital births are reported digitally, but naming, parent details, health-fund registration and payments may need further action.

Who is this guide for?

Parents of a baby born in Israel completing registration and initial services.

!
Conditions and exceptions

Home births, births abroad and status or parentage questions have different routes. A birth report alone does not recognise paternity or establish citizenship.

01

Check reporting details before discharge

Compare names and identification on hospital records. The Health Ministry describes digital notification to the Population Authority.
What should you prepare?

Hospital records; parents' identification.

Please note

A birth notification is not the final birth certificate.

02

Complete a missing name

Use the newborn-name service if unnamed. If birth information has not arrived, follow instructions to wait for recording before applying online.
What should you prepare?

Baby's details; parent authentication.

Please note

This is for births in Israel; adding a parent needs another appropriate route.

03

Check the birth certificate

Verify ID number, names and parent details; ask the Population Authority about discrepancies with original evidence.
What should you prepare?

Birth certificate; birth notification.

Please note

Never edit a certificate file to correct it.

04

Check health fund and payment separately

Confirm the child's fund registration and check birth-grant information; default fund allocation relates to the parent receiving child allowance.
What should you prepare?

Fund confirmation; payment information.

Please note

Sending a report does not prove every body recorded it.

05

Organise unresolved issues

For each body record the missing detail, date and reference. Check exceptions before selecting forms for non-standard births.
What should you prepare?

Enquiry list; completion confirmations.

Please note

Frequently asked questions

Is the hospital report enough?

Check naming, registration, health fund and payments separately; the Health Ministry distinguishes reporting from parents' remaining responsibilities.
