Conditions and exceptions

Ask the recipient about language, certification, original and any language exemption.
What should you prepare?

Recipient requirement.

Please note

Not every foreign document needs Hebrew translation.

02

Check the specific authority route

For civil-status changes the authority lists originals, authentication and Hebrew notarised translation with an Arabic exception.

04

Compare identification

Match names against passport/ID, dates and pages; address source errors before retranslation.
What should you prepare?

ID records.

Please note

Do not use a translation to conceal a discrepancy.

05

Arrange further authentication if needed

For foreign use check apostille or another route for the notarial act; keep original and certificate together.
What should you prepare?

Translation and certification.

Please note

Notarised translation is not itself an apostille.

Frequently asked questions

Are notarial certification and apostille identical?

No. A notary certifies the particular act; an apostille is additional authentication under the appropriate international-use route.
